They all really, really shut it down, and it's funny doing season ten and those episodes. I've gotten so many guest appearance requests than in my entire five years of having talk show with him. It's like have people been paying attention? I've literally said I'm ending the show and only 15 episodes. So to be getting requests, I'm like, yeah, you must have not been listening to this episode. But it was it was incredible to see that tension and this season was getting the curiosity, the excitement of what's to come. So first of all, shout out to Simona who offered to edit this episode and got me out to record right now. Uh because I was procrastinating recording this.

This is bittersweet, this is emotional, you know. When something is your baby, it has been packed. Talkshire packed with peers. It was my COVID baby. Um it was my identity. Like, who doesn't know talkshire with P like this industry in these communities? Talkshire with P brought so much joy. Talkshire with P brought safety into my life. You know, people constantly say who's your podcast for? I've always been selfish. My podcast was really for me. I needed it to get out of a tough time. And most of you know the story as depressed as dealing with uh breakout and Black Lives Matter, Asia Lives, and everything in the world that was just going on, it was just too much. And the conversations that were having the connections that I was creating and my own truth that I ended up facing when I say talk show P has been therapy for me, and that's why I do say uh podcasting saved my mental health because every time I've been down, it has been coming back to talk show pee that brought me back to life.

We're gonna start a new YouTube page and it's gonna be about my love life, but with beer. You know, just like if how everything has to come to an end, right? So uh I might be stopping Budweiser and I have this idea of going into different breweries to find the beer that will replace Budweiser, and you know, I'll be shooting uh the content with that, and every brewery I end up at, uh I'll have different people who are coming to share these beers with me, and we're having conversations and you know, conversations over beer in search for my one true beer. But I'm excited, you should be excited to sell. There's a lot coming out. There's books that I've been writing uh to um they need to finally be out there to the world. I feel like 2025 was not the worst year out of these five years. I feel like it was my best year yet so far. Things started aligning, you know. So I met Paula in 2023. I was attending this podcast event in Atlanta. It was a gathering because, you know, as someone who's in this media space and works with a lot of founders and influencers stuff, I always try to see like where people are convening and who like just to learn and grow with people, like who should I know and everything. So I was at this event, I only knew one other person, and I remember seeing this woman with some colorful braids, and I actually didn't get a chance to speak with her, but I remember thinking, like, oh, I gotta meet her. One, because I always like to know everyone black Zoom's place, but then also because uh the people who were around her kept interacting with her, and everything seemed very positive. Had a very brief interaction, so I can't just give you an answer on this one. So that was the first time really seeing Paula, I should say. Then also saw her again on a Zoom call. It was like a follow-up to that meetup we were at. It was cool because it was like, okay, vibes were instantly there. We were both like, oh yeah, we wanted to meet each other but couldn't. So that was cool. But then it wasn't until after it was in audio where I really truly got to know Paula. And um, it was not what I expected. It was better because Paula's amazing. Um, it's been great getting to know her and just how seeing how giving she is for people. She's helped me a lot with different um opportunities and networking opportunities. She's uh in every space she's in, she's just uh very loving. And um, really though, really the thing that truly amazed me was every single time I've been around Paula in person, every single time at least two strangers will just stop her and be like, oh my god, and just instantly connect. It's like magic. It's more than magic, it's it's some like chemical reaction that happens when people meet Paula. So um, first time I guess I got that from a distance, being like, huh, there's something about I should know this person. And then just you know, just seeing it in action. I'm like, okay, yeah, Nazi. She she um, yeah, people are drawn to her like like the sun. I don't know if people are drawn to the sun. I guess they just rotate around the sun. People are moths, and Paula's a light bulb. She wouldn't even acknowledge that we were there. We were sitting at the bar. She was talking on the phone with somebody, and Crepe Digger and I was sitting down just waiting and talking for Dominic Lawson to come in. And she knew Dominic, even if she hasn't met, I don't think she met him at that point face to face. And she just yelled Dominic and stuff like that, but she don't notice that we there anyway. We see that energy, but you saw the vulnerable side, you saw all the things. And then it honored us that she came and participated in the first annual um Drip in the Black retreat. So Paula is doing her thing. Um, I don't think it's the last thing is talking shit with P. You know, I if I had a bad man, it'd be back in some iteration or form. Well, I met Paula at that 2024 Pi Fest. She was on stage, and when she got off stage, she walked past me and she said, I see you, and we need to talk. And then she disappeared. But one thing about Paula, she speaks in mind and she always speaks from the heart. And I love that about her. But seeing how Paula moved through PodFest, becoming a mayor, the governor, and all these different aspects, it showed me that I can do the same thing. Um, and I was just talking about what was going on, and you know, we changed numbers or whatever, and she was like, Yeah, you know, if anything, just call me. If you need anything, no problem, just call me. Um, she actually called me and then was like, hey, you know, is everything okay? Do you need me to send you money and stuff like that? Like, just super, super helpful. Um, you know, and this is a person that it's not like I knew of for like 10 years, you know? Um, just genuinely caring. And and, you know, from then I was like, you know, this person is just super, super amazing.

It can be many, many months where we don't talk to each other and then we connect and we're like, hey, girl, tell me everything. How is it? Always greeting with smiles and hugs. Like, yes, the podcast community is family and we are all here to support each other, but you support people with the loss of a pet or the loss of a family member or like helping care for their pets or their kids. And all of those people are so thankful of you and they're so appreciative of you. And for me to be able to see how you encourage people to be themselves, even though life brings on these challenges, is extremely beautiful and refreshing to see in a human being. With that said, I think it's amazing that you are very open and honest on your podcast as well as in conversations with people about how you do struggle with mental health and what you do to better yourself with that. And that brings nothing but realism into who you are as a person. And I love that so much. It makes it easier for me to accept my own mental health challenges. And we met in the most unhinged way, which trucks, and uh I remember thinking I loved I she had a really high undercut, and I only had like a subtle one when we met. And we're walking through the lobby, and all of a sudden I hear and I'm like, who is that? And sure enough, I was like, no, I know who that is. That's Paula. No, I I I had heard Paula's voice for years and years, but it was my first time actually hearing it in person. So I knew then that Paula was just this uh burst and ball of energy and and this very awesome and amazing person that you have to know. Two years since then, after uh launching her favorite show, The B Word, with my wife launching mental health rewritten, one thing I knew uh then was that she was a ball of energy and super supportive. But now knowing Paula is how uh thoughtful and intentional and very loyal she is. So I couldn't really pinpoint the first time we met, but I know this is definitely as close to it as possible. It was that podcast movement maybe about a year ago. And I was speaking on the creator stage, and you were handling all of the stage metrics as well as sound, and you were absolutely professional, but you had this glow, and you also just had this aura about you that made me feel, you know, relaxed and ready to speak, although I had been going over my words forever, like coming in in contact with your energy was like, yo, Faye, just get up there and talk to people because you just made me feel really comfortable. But actually, now that I'm thinking about it, that wasn't the first time because I had already seen you and met you in person a little bit, maybe the day before. Um, and okay, so let's get through. So we knew it was around that time, about a year ago at podcast movement when we met in person. Uh, but my first impression, it you always had this hair, your hair, you you had all these different colors going on and uh the purple. And um, at that time, I think it was green. I don't know. Child, don't get me to line up here on this camera. But whatever color you had in, the my first impression of you is like, yo, she don't give a fuck what nobody think about her. That was my first impression of you, and not even that. To take it a step further, I was like, yo, she's an individual, she is someone who is spontaneous, spot, she has a lot of spontaneity in her. I might need to do this again. But if this works, P, keep it. If not, I could do another take for you. But I was like, she has um the tenacity and spontaneity of a person that is an individual. So this is someone who is a leader. Now that I'm getting to know you, I still see that in you. I still see that liveliness and that vivaciousness in your personality, but I also see like your deep care for community. Like a lot of people talk about community, community, community, but you are a person who is about community. Um, when you came out to volunteer with Banji Bonebox, like the way you treated my my wife, my mother-in-law, my family, the way you treated everybody, the way you treated me, like you're a person that just gives and gives and gives, and you're so humble, and you do so many things. And I'm convinced there's more than one of you because you be in like four different cities, and by the time I catch up with you, you be in the city where I'm in. I'm like, how are you back? I just saw you on Instagram. You were just across the country. Now you're somewhere else. But I love how you move, I love your movement, I love what you're doing. I love how you pour into people, and I hope that people are pouring into you for the celebration. Tin? Tin, are you kidding me? Like, I'm so happy for you. I'm so proud of you. When I first met you, we were at Podfest, and I remember you were running back and forth, and I was like, who is this firecracker? I need to meet her, and I need her in my energy ASAP. And so I don't remember how we met. I don't know who introduced us, but we met, and honestly, that was pretty much it. Like from there onwards, we just became instant friends and became even better friends over the years. So my first impression of you was that you were loud, but I'm also loud. So I loved it and I was so drawn to it. Um, you were loud, you were funny, you were a bubble of energy. And then as I got to know you, I was like, wow, like she has so much depth to her. Paula is so creative, she's so funny, she's so energetic, and she's so caring and loving. And that's one thing, Paula, that's really, really something that I love so much about you is how caring and how loving you are, how you're always caring about other people, how you're always making sure everyone else is okay, even if maybe you're not, and you're always showing all of the love and the support to everyone. This video is for my friend Paula. I want to let you know, Paula, when you and I first met. So obviously, Chris here, Chris Kremitsos with the Podfest community, wearing my Podfest shirt. I met Paula during a summit during COVID called the BidFest Summit, where we talk about video. Uh, during COVID, where everything was online and virtual. The reason why I mentioned that is Paula's personality popped off the screen. And honestly, Paula, I thought either you were one of the most energetic people we've ever met or probably crazy, or a little bit of both. Uh as we did those summits, you not only volunteered and helped, but you brought energy to the table, the likes of which would pop off the screen, and we needed it because you helped uplift the entire community with the positive energy you brought. And I knew there was something special to you, but I didn't know exactly what. When we then became we went back to in-person and you started coming to all our events, you did the same thing. You helped people, you brought the energy, you welcome people. And what I kind of thought in my gut that this person is special was 100% confirmed. You have a special gift of making people feel special. And for that, Paula, I will always be appreciative of all the energy you've brought into my life. Since then, we've lost family members in the podcast community, and Paula, you're always there to comfort those members in their family and myself. And all I will say to you is no matter what project you work on, podcast, marketing project, anything in life, you will always um have a special place in my heart, and you'll always be a pillar of the PodFest community. Um I got recognized this year. Shout out to the awards I won. Uh from I got I got to be on a cover of a magazine. I got to be a a part of a best selling, best international selling book, Voice Your Vibe. Um I got to be a page speaker, I got to um work a TED. I got to do amazing, incredible shit this year. I got to do the press press for the Ampys. I got to go on a retreat sponsored by Mopad. They sponsored me um to the Dripping in Black retreat, and I got to see Eight Mine or walk on Eight Might or whatever. And spend time with a community, people from a community that I once adored. I just 2025 was a got a damn good year for talk show with you and rap show with me. I got to get clients. Some of my friends supported me and trusted me with them and hired me. I got paid to do what I love. And if we're being honest, it started with Mopad. Most people don't know, but um this year at PodFest in January, Mopad actually paid me cash to take their pictures, and now I'm front. I'll be taking pictures and buying the scenes of the podfest. Mostly the career came. But five years ago, if you'd have asked me what this podcast was, I'd have told you I'm just doing it for fun.
